Some beginner issues ?

Hi,
I'm a new user and I have some questions about some functions.

1. Is it possible to "sort" the emails on their "read" status (so that all unread emails are at the top (or bottom) of the email list ?

2. Is it possible to get an amount of unread emails (so you can see if there are still unread emails somewhere in the list).

3. Is it possible to "save" the layout (or how should I call it). For example I changed the table size of the email list (not from, subject, size and received are a bit too small and the "flagged" is too wide). I tried to resize them but when selecting a new label from the label list or restarting Daisho resets these field back to their original size.

4. I've heard about the sync service you offer (to sync between PC and Smartphone) but Is it also possible to Sync the entire database with other computers ? For example I have a Laptop that runs Linux (Debian) and a Desktop that runs Windows 7. And it would be nice to be able to read or re-read all received emails on both systems and offcourse to have all reminders and meetings on both as-well offcourse (I have a NAS drive that I can access through FTP but I cannot get it to work with Daisho, or maybe I'm just doing something wrong ?).

5. And finally (for now) I would like to add a +1 for IMAP support
I saw a message here that you are working on supporting IMAP in the next release so I hope to see that soon.

    Dear Patrick,
thanks for your interest in Daisho!

    Let's answer in reverse order:
    5) IMAP: it is coming soon. I'm just testing internal beta 6.
    4) Sync is only supported for smartphones with the basic items (calendar, contacts, tasks). The database structure is too complex to have a reasonable sync facility here.

However, as Daisho is designed to run on multiple platforms, we usually recommend to keep the database e.g. on an USB stick if you want to use Daisho on multiple computers (that's acutally the configuration I use: I have everything on my usb stick and I'm working on 4+ computers in different network setting or at customer computers).
A NAS would do it as well, but FTP access is not sufficient, you need to mount the drive as a network drive - so if you working remotely, an USB stick might be the better option. But make sure to keep regular backups.

    3) Safe the layout: Actually, we do it. However, we treat "received, sent, etc." as different layouts, so they are stored independently.

2+1) Unread email filters/counts: currently, you can not sort on read/unread. As we do have the labeling concept where you can assign several labels to an email, and mix the lables together, reading the unread count would be quite a performance sensitive feature. WIth the upcoming IMAP release, we introduce folders, and with that, we have unread counts :-)

    Hope this helps,
    best regards,
    Klaus
